Dan York

Voxeo, Director of Conversations

Dan York writes, speaks and teaches about emerging communication technology and has been doing so since the mid-1980s. Author of the popular "Disruptive Telephony" blog, Dan's recent books include "Migrating Applications to IPv6 and "Seven Deadliest Unified Communications Attacks".


Dan serves as Director of Conversations at Voxeo Corporation heading up the company's communication through new/social media including blogs, video, Twitter and Facebook. Previously, Dan served in Voxeo's Office of the CTO focused on analyzing/evaluating emerging technology, participating in industry standards bodies and addressing VoIP security issues. Prior to that Dan worked for Mitel Networks, joined several startups and was a co-founder of the Linux Professional Institute (LPI), today the leading vendor-neutral certification for Linux.


Outside of Voxeo, Dan serves as the Chair of the VoIP Security Alliance, is involved with the IETF and VoiceXML Forum and is helping start up an IPv6 special interest group within the SIP Forum.
