Asterisk SCF is a new opensource communications framework. it's goals are performance, scalability, fault tolerance and extensibility.
I'll describe the novel process that defined the goals for ASCF, based largely on projects we couldn't do with Asterisk.
I'll discuss the way that the existing Asterisk community were kept on-board and the results so far.
I'll look in more depth at one aspect of ASCF - extensibility - and describe the experience of implementing a sample call routing engine in the Groovy
scripting language.
