Efficient Sensing in Wireless and Mobile Systems

Sophisticated algorithms and protocols for sensing and data collection are needed to meet the significant challenges imposed by resource constraints on energy and bandwidth faced by wireless networks and mobile computing platforms. As case studies, I will describe cutting edge research at USC on energy efficient mobile sensing, high-rate data collection in multi-hop wireless networks, and indoor localization.
