Haptics in the Mobile UX and What is Next

Christophe Ramstein, CTO, Immersion

Date: Tuesday, June 28

Time: 5:05 - 5:20 PM

Location: Salon E

Category: Technology & Engineering

This talk will explain the value and importance of haptics in the mobile UX, how it is currently implemented, and what is next. The great adoption of touchscreens and other sensors have enabled a gestural mobile experience, getting closer to the real-life interaction paradigm. Haptics - what people feel when they touch and interact with the physical environment - is equally important for the mobile UX. Haptics is being rapidly adopted by the mobile community and is currently integrated in over 25% of touchscreen handsets worldwide. The future of mobility requires haptics for more instinctual, intuitive and emotional user experiences.
