There are still a lot of PBXs in the world, and it'll be a few years before everyone is willing to throw them all away. With so many horror stores, and memories of the telecom crash, modern businesses are reluctant to jump into any new telecom technology. The challenge that many of them now face is that their systems are 10 or more years old, and support is getting harder to find. Couple that with an expectation of VoIP-compatibility, and an interesting challenge emerges. How to deliver a PBX that is safely-familiar to the old one, but offers the possibility of integrating all of the exciting stuff that one reads about online? They don't want to rock the boat, but when the music is right, they want to be ready to dance.
