Michael Roth
British Telecom, Engineer
Michael Roth’s first job in telecommunications was as the telecommunications manager for the Mondale for President Campaign. He provided telecommunications services for a presidential campaign during the divestiture of AT&T. This work posed operational, regulatory, financial, legal, and technological challenges. Michael met these challenges much better than the candidate he worked for met his electoral challenge.
Michael has since worked in and for a number of companies including IBM, Cisco, Clorox and Wells Fargo Bank. The focus of his work has been to bring the innovations of this emerging technology to bear on the business problems faced by these companies in order to use the technology to expand market share, increase revenue or establish competitive differentiation.
Michael Roth currently works for BT, a telecommunications company facing its own challenges as it simultaneously re-invents itself in its domestic UK market while at the same time become the premier provider of network based infrastructure and services throughout the world. Michael works with Fortune 500 companies that have significant voice and data networks outside the United States.
