Stipe Tolj
Kannel Software Foundation, Chief System Architect
Stipe Tolj is Executive Officer and Chief System Architect of the
Kannel Software Foundation (KSF). Previously being Chief Technology
Officer of Wapme Systems AG, a German stock quoted pioneer company in
mobile wireless application technologies, dedicated Platform Manager
of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF). He has been working throughout
the last ten years in various strategic joint-ventures, including Nokia,
Ericsson, Vodafone, T-Mobile and VeriSign for various mobile applications
and infrastructure architectures, including SMSC protocols, WAP, MMS, ENUM, mobile payment.
He has been contributing as open source evangelist to various well-known
projects, including the Apache HTTP Server, MySQL RDBMS, PHP and as working group
member in various standardization bodies, including the IETF, W3C, WAP Forum,
SMPP Forum, OMA. Throughout being involved in core IP and mobile infrastructure
standards and technologies, he is focusing in integration aspects and unification strategies.
