Brian Harris
New Mexico Attorney General, Telecom Specialist

Brian Harris is a consumer advocate for the New Mexico Attorney General's Office. Recently his main areas of advocacy are in title insurance, telecommunications, and certain types of water utilities. For the past 4 years he has focused on increasing investments for New Mexico's aging and dilapidated telecommunications infrastructure. He started learning about telecommunications when he practiced law with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, where he was instrumental in creating the Technology Opportunities Program (TOP). Prior to attending Vermont Law School, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Gabon. Brian has also worked with the National Science Foundation where he managed educational technology programs, and New Mexico Technet, where he recruited computer experts for K-12 schools.
