With today's myriad of emerging telephony and speech specifications,developers face the daunting challenge of becoming standards experts while trying to solve real business and technology problems. Understanding standards and emerging specifications is fundamental to understanding IP-based telephony and speech technologies, products and services.
This session will survey the most important standards and emerging specifications, including SIP, CCXML, VoiceXML and MRCP, and present useful guidelines and recommendations for their usage.

Through the lens of a telephony- and speech-standards expert, attendees
will:

  • Learn which standards and emerging specifications will have the greatest impact on the speech and telephony ecosystem
